I've been contemplating this idea of waiting for over a month now and am really beginning to wrap my brain around some thoughts.
Waiting is not something our human nature deals with. In this day of instant gratification having to wait or be patient is frustrating. After a month of waiting on a clear answer, the frustration becomes anger and disillusionment. Especially when it appears to be waiting on another human being. Just get on with it.
However, I was reminded in the night to "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him" (Psalm 37:7). Tim and I have been praying fervently for this situation to come to some sort of decision or confirmation that there would not be a decision, but I can't say that I've waited patiently or that I really waited patiently for the Lord. I was waiting on a man to resolve/clarify/whatever....
I know that God will answer in His own time. I know this. But, I wasn't claiming that in this situation. I am now. I can't say that there won't be times that I find myself getting frustrated or angry, but I know the truth. And, I know that God sees the BIG picture and I don't.
Waiting is never easy. But, it's a part of life. Why else do we have waiting rooms?
A peek into our lives as we try to live our CRAZY life according to God's perfect will.

Surgery and Softball
For those of you who don't know, Cooper had his tonsils and adenoids removed today, as well as another set of tubes inserted. It has been an extremely long day, as he developed a rash about the time they were going to send us home. So, we had to stay an extra hour and a half.
He seems to be recovering well - is starving and eating everything that I'll let him.
Abby played her last league ball game last night and is in the throes of practice with her tournament team. They will play the weekend of May 15 and Memorial Day weekend. We are awaiting information on further tournaments.

A Glimpse of Spring
This weekend really turned out to be the prettiest weather we've seen in a while (except for late last week - but who got to experience that?). The kids spent most of today outside and are anxiously looking forward to nice weather on a more regular basis.
Cooper went to the eye doctor this week - not much change, although he did say he had improved one step in each eye, continue patching, and that we will probably go from appointments every three months to every six months, after his full work-up in April.
He starts music this week and is super excited about that. He keeps asking about the instruments so I'm hoping Mrs. Windy comes through. We're pretty much potty trained - still wearing a diaper at night, but really no accidents during the day to speak of.
Abby is anxious to get back to playing ball. She actually has her first game five weeks from today. Tryouts are in two weeks, but she doesn't have to go through that since Tim is coaching.
Tim and I were given an opportunity this week to share with a family who has a six-month old little boy with a similar diagnosis as Cooper. It's really a God thing, because they live just down the street.
One more thing, my friend Michelle and I are blogging about various subjects God lays on our hearts and minds at www.gloryboundgirls.blogspot.com.

We're Pottying!!
When Cooper went back to "school" on Monday - he went back with NO diapers. He had a couple of accidents on Monday and Tuesday, but none yesterday or today. We'll see if we can keep this up!
I finally realized this whole pottying thing was bothering me a whole lot more than it was bothering him. Everyone kept saying he would do it in his own time, but I wanted it now.
The Christmas and New Year break flew by. We spent the majority of it just being together at home. The kids and I did, however, go to Arkansas with my parents and nephew the week after Christmas. It was a quick trip, but an enjoyable one. I got to see my uncle and both of my aunts, one of whom I haven't seen in three years.
We're now settling in for the cold weather this weekend. But looking forward to watching the game tonight! Stay warm everyone!

November is Here
I haven't posted since August....I guess mostly because life just got in the way. Abby's been playing ball and we've been GOING every night of the week.
The kids and I went to Arkansas with my mother this weekend for my great-aunt's 80th birthday. It was an extremely quick trip and we're all glad to be home.
Cooper is having to patch his right eye for an hour every day in an effort to strength the left one. We go back in January so we'll see if it's working.
Now that ball is slowing down, maybe I can post more often. Will try to upload Halloween pics this week.

One Week Down!!! YAHOOOOOO!
So, I can't believe that it's been over two months since I've posted anything. So much for keeping up with things when I was off. We've made it through one week and are already anticipating a busy semester.
Abby is going to be playing league ball and has practice two days a week starting this week. She's also playing on a tournament team will practice one day a week until league ball is over. She hasn't said much about 2nd grade. That's not unusual, though. I usually find out what's going on when I least expect it.
Cooper is just Cooper. He has the biggest imagination. Last night he pretended that the faucet in the bathtub was a microphone and he was ordering chicken nuggets, fench fies, and a dr. peppper at McDonald's. We never know what's going to come out of his mouth. We stopped the potty training. He just kept saying "This not working."
I'm attaching a picture of Abby and her BFF with their 2nd grade teacher - not sure it's such a good idea that they're in the same class, but so far.... The other is a picture on the first day of school - Cooper couldn't be left out.
