I'm already dreading going back to school tomorrow. I know it's only seven more days, but...

Abby finished her science fair project yesterday. It really looks like a first grader did it with NO help from mom or dad. No one can question that aspect of it. Even so, it does look good if I do say so.

Our friends came over for fried fish for lunch and the four kids really entertained themselves well. I wasn't too sure how Cooper and Kelsey would play together, but they did well. They have a hard act to as follow as Abby and Cade have always done real well.

Cooper and Tim are both napping, Abby's watching Disney Channel and I'm just enjoying the quiet. Sixty seventh graders will leave no time for quiet these next two weeks. I keep thinking we'll slow down and just enjoy time at the pool, but I know I'll spend more time in the car than anywhere else.

Memorial Day Weekend

So...we're NOT pottying. I just quit for a while. He's not interested enough, and it just frustrates me.

We are so looking forward to this long weekend. I hope to spend it doing not much of anything. I do know, however, that Abby has to finish her science fair project. Maybe we can get that out of the way tomorrow and Sunday afternoon. We're planning to fry fish on Monday with some friends - hope the weather holds out. I spent this evening mowing the yard. It was already mid-calf in the backyard. I guess it's that time when I'm going to have to mow once a week, if not more often.

Only more seven more school days and then we're out for the summer!! YooooHOOO!!

Our Foray into Potty Training

Cooper went in the potty!!! Yeah! I know it's only once, but MAYBE we are on the right track.

I can definitely tell that the school year is winding down because our household is CRAZY! I'll blame our schedules for the fact that I haven't posted in a month. Well maybe in a few more weeks, I'll be able to catch up.

Abby has three more softball games left. However, they are all scheduled for 7:15. That usually means we won't get home until 9:00. Both Abby and Cooper are dead on their feet after 8:00. This will definitely free up our evenings some. But, this is the time of year when we (Tim, especially) have a banquet or some "program" every other night of the week.

I'm trying to decide on a science fair project for Abby - if anyone has any ideas, please pass them on. I'm about ready to just forget the whole thing.

One bright spot during this hectic time of year is that I'm going to "teach" scrapbooking during an enrichment period at school starting Monday. My plan is to have each student create a paperbag book to take with them at the end of the week. I suppose my biggest concern is that it's a mixed group of girls and pretty rough boys - not sure how the boys are going to respond, but we're going to make the best of it. If it doesn't work this week, I'll try something else the next.

At least I know the end is in sight - 16 more "school" days.
